Making many appearances throughout Trek films and series, the iconic Earth Spacedock first appeared in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock. Its rounded and timeless design made it an iconic addition to the spacecraft lexicon of the franchise.


This detailed model made for LEGO bricks was created to the exact specs of the real thing. It accurately captures the blue accent lighting of the space station, as well as its varying widths.

DESIGNER NOTE: It is a simple design, but the Spacedock was at the top of my list to add to the collection.  What's interesting about creating models at this scale is that sizes can multiply quickly. For example, if the width of the saucer would increase (not keeping appropriate parts in mind), the height of the station must proportionately increase - making it far too large to qualify for the "Mini" part of MiniTrekMOCs.
